Spring

Here's what we've been up to this spring:

Gary took Matthew to the Long Beach Grand Prix. He got to watch Danika Patrick race, among the other racers! Matthew also go to enjoy the rock wall! (Video below of the race)

Matthew & Gary have taken a few "guy" trips to the desert. They LOVE it, and so do the girls! When the boys are away. . . the girls play! :)

Kaycee did her spring chorus concert for school. She did a great job!

We had a really fun day at Moonlight Beach over spring break. We met up with cousins and lots of friends! The rocks were as fun as the water!

Sydney had "Colonial Days" at school. She learned how to sew a patchwork pillow, make a candle and make butter. She was also able to play some colonial games, and write with a feather pen.

And, Sydney and her friends tried out for the school talent show. It was TOUGH competition! Any of you that know Sydney know that just agreeing to try out is HUGE for her! We're so proud of her for giving it a shot! She didn't make it, but had a lot of fun practicing and coming up with all the dance moves, the costumes, etc!

We had a "repeat" party for Kaycee! We invited her friends over for some dancing and a "drive in movie". Kaycee choose Nanny McPhee Returns. It was a lot of fun! Happy Happy Birthday Kaycee!!

6 more weeks

I promise I will update soon. But until I do, I just can't help posting this picture! We leave for Kona Hawaii 6 weeks from today! The excitement is mounting to almost a fevered pitch around here! This is one of the beaches our landlady suggested we try. What do you think? Would this be a nice beach to try?

Back to Doheny!

We had a REALLY fun camping trip a few weekends ago. We met up with a few cousins from AZ and went camping at Doheny beach. It was so much fun to be with cousins! Even though the weather was a little cold, we all had a great time!

The boys discovered that if you held your finger over the top of the bicycle pump it made an embarrassing noise. They thought that was HILARIOUS!

I think we interrupted a very romantic evening for one couple. After they left, the kids took over their spot! Sorry!

If the water is too cold, just run up a hill and jump into the sand. . .over and over and over!

I tried to stay right behind this great photographer for most of the trip! I'm sure she has way better pictures, and 100's more than we do! We're so grateful for our historian! :)

Happy Birthday Sydney!

For Sydney's party this year we had a "drive-in movie". All her friends came over, and we played some games, like who can blow the biggest milk bubble, a ping pong ball relay, did the hokey pokey and played tag. Then everyone settled down in the drive way to watch Despicable Me! It was a fun party!

Dripping Springs

Normally when we head to Dripping Springs it looks like the above: a dry creek bed.

But when we went yesterday, it looked like this! A real creek! The kids had so much fun playing in the crystal cold water, that we never made it any further on our "hike".

It's off!

It's been a month! We've had a big b-day party for Syd, but I haven't uploaded the pictures for that yet!

Today Sydney got her cast off! She's been SO great about it this whole month! We got her "after" X-ray. See the little black line in her bone of her third finger? That is the break. The Dr. said it's healing, but not all the way healed yet. So she still has to be careful. She CAN go back to playing the piano though-which she is SO happy about! Her arm is all peeling and scaly now that the cast is off!!
