Big Mac Attack

It all started with the Ipod, then we got an IMac for our computer upstairs. Then Gary got the Iphone. Sunday night our downstairs computer got a huge virus that wiped it out. Can't imagine where it came from--it's not like I'm on facebook that often, or the kids are googling video games to play left and right, Matthew's clicking on who knows what to find a dirt bike game! Well Gary said, I can take it apart, clean it, and spend a few days rebuilding this Windows crap machine, OR I can buy this Mac Mini that just came up on Craig's List and be DONE with Windows! Just the day before he spent the entire day cleaning out our garage, and listed a few bicycles, a weight bench, free weights, and a few other things on Craigs List. With his new income from the weekend, he went to SD and got the Mac Mini and voila, we are a Mac family! I have to say, in the few days I've had it, it hasn't frozen up once, it hasn't slowed down to a crawl once, I haven't had to reboot once, and we won't have any threats of viruses. Thanks Gary!!

Going to the dogs!

Well, I've been worn down. My kids have been BEGGING and BEGGING and BEGGING for a dog for at least 6 months now. I finally caved. I know it will be good for them, but I am just not willing to give up my very new found freedom! Not ready for more responsibility, not ready for more things to take care of and worry about and especially CLEAN up after! But I finally realized that I can't deprive them of all a dog can bring, cause I'm being so selfish! So tomorrow, this is what the kids will see in thier baskets:

June 15th you can take this puppy home. I checked with your Mom and she said it's ok.

* Gary found a breeder here in SD and has checked it all out. The puppies will be born in the next week or so, so 8 weeks later we get to take one home.

Luau

We went to the Royal Lahaina Luau. It was fun! Kaycee wanted to get a picture with every Hula dancer after the show!

Whale watching

We took a boat ride out to see the whales. We've seen a few from our hotel and once from the road but it was nothing compared to seeing them up close. We first came upon a baby, only 4 days old swimming with her Mommy. Then we came across a group of at least 6 male whales battling for the mating rights of a female. That was incredible to watch! They'd lunge out of the water and head butt the whale under them, tail slap and generally push and shove each other! The guide said it was a very rare thing to watch, and we were lucky enough to see it up close! We didn't get many pictures, it was hard to capture it, but it was really amazing to watch!

She's 7!

How did you spend your 7th birthday? Kaycee spent hers snorkeling, swimming, getting her nails done, and enjoying Hawaiian Shaved Ice!!
