Day 2 (Happy Easter)

We had a great day finding eggs, playing with what the Easter bunny brought, singing in sacrament meeting in church--the Primary anyway--and having a nice Easter dinner. Hope you all have a great Easter today!

Day 1

Our day changed quite a bit from what was originally planned. Gary and I were supposed to go to my cousin Alison's wedding today. That just didn't work out. Sorry Alison! So, instead Gary cleaned out the garage ( I can actually park my car INSIDE the garage! Thanks Gary!) I took Sydney to get her ears pierced now that she is 8, we went to Winco and stocked up for Spring Break, we went to the park, and cleaned the house top to bottom. I forgot to take my camera to the park, and I was way too embarrassed to show a "before" picture of our house! Just imagine a week of craziness and not much time to clean! Gary took Kaycee out for her date with Dad. She is so excited when it's her turn to go out! Now we're all done cleaning and putting out baskets for the Easter Bunny!

Spring Break! Yeah! No school, homework, getting up, signing papers, remembering books, packing lunches, trying to get to bed on time, etc. etc. etc.!

Camping at the beach

This weekend we had a scheduled trip to meet Gary's Dad at San Elijo Camp Ground. Well, Gary got really sick this week and so did Sydney. So Friday morning Gary said he would stay home with Sydney. So I packed up Lauren, Kaycee and Matthew, our tent and headed to the beach! We really missed Gary and Sydney, but had a great weekend. The weather was so perfect! Bright warm sunny days. The water was of course freezing, but the kids didn't care. They went further and further and further out until they were all the way in! Thanks Grampy, Josh, and Mimi for such a fun weekend!

We packed up Sunday morning and took ONE last walk along the beach. It was so pretty! I can't WAIT to go back!

The kids love to ride their scooters all over the camp ground at San Elijo.

We found a little open air theater. Looks like they show movies there in the summer, but Kaycee and Matthew decided to entertain us!

Meditation with a 3 year old boy

Right down the street from where my brother and sister in law were staying there was a "meditation" garden. It's open to the public, and you can go and enjoy the beautiful flowers, hear the waves of the ocean and be thankful that we live in So Cal! We all rode scooters to the garden, and walked through. It was so beautiful and there were quite a few people meditating here and there. Matthew lasted about 10 minutes and was ready to get back on his scooter. How do you explain to a three year old boy that the point is to be QUIET, enjoy the PEACE and walk SLOWLY through the garden?

So I've decided in my old age I want to buy a house along the beach in Encinitas and walk the beach every morning and mediate in a garden in the afternoon!

Baptism Day

Sydney's baptism day was beautiful. Although it was cold and cloudy, it was a special day. I think everyone there felt the spirit as Sydney and Maddyn became the newest members of our church.

Afterwards, we had lots of cousins and friends come to spend some time with Sydney. We were fortunate to have Grandparents travel far to be with us.

Thanks to everyone who came and who sent cards and gifts. You all made Sydney feel so special!
